Well, since everyone's doing it... #introduction
Hi there,
I'm a graymuzzle and ellipsis abuser from the mythical land of Mexico, who just joined here as part of the great exodus (twittxit?). While shitposting is a full-time job (and a very cruel mistress indeed u.u), I also dabble in coding, gaming, and reading/writing in my spare time.
Hoping to meet some awesome peeps in here and see what the fediverse has to offer!
I keep forgetting you need to use hashtags to enable searching on your toots.
Is anyone going to the #Megaplex #furry #convention who has not bought a ticket yet? I have a discount code for you to use! DM me!
Why do people here refer to Twitter as "birdsite"? /1
For many accounts that have been here for some time, Twitter was a very unsafe place. It was a place we suffered so much harassment, hate and bile, we finally made the often hard decision to switch to this smaller, but much friendlier and truly social network.
We wanted to leave Twitter behind. We had enough of the toxic algorithms that changed people's behaviour over there for the worse. We didn't want to be reminded of Twitter.
Content warning abbreviations can be a bit confusing, so here are the most common ones:
ph = physical health
mh = mental health
pol. = politics
adj. = adjacent
+ = positively framed
~ = neutrally/uncertaintly framed
- = negatively framed
begpost = crowdfunding request = Boosts are okay/appreciated
= Twitter, also known as "Birdsite"
If anyone can think of anything else, we'll happily boost it. But most others tend to be self-explanatory.
Psst, the artist known as DWC, who made this piece for me, is opening up comms tomorrow!

Hello! I am a furry from Singapore, and also am a vtuber that streams on Twitch. I am terrible at introductions, so I'll just leave it at that xD
Oh wow, the European Union 🇪🇺 now has its own official Mastodon instance!
https://social.network.europa.eu/explore
You can follow lots of important EU officials on here including the @EU_Commission
(new user tip: these all have image descriptions btw, hover your mouse or use your client's view feature to see; it's considered polite to add image descriptions and captions to things you upload, not just for viewing accessibility but also to point out details to focus on)
Mastodon tip: you can customize a column to list multiple hashtags (and block-list some of them too). It's a good way to discover all the posts gravitating around the topics you like (eg. for art, #mastoart is a popular one). That's really a feature I love here and wanted to share it to newcomers.
OMG Hourly fox is here!...

Just finished Welcome to San Cicaro. While I did not like as much the individual stories per se, I sure loved how they all were connected in one way or another + how they seemed to all be around the same quality in writing despite being a multi-author anthology. Huge props to the editor for doing that.
Only one more book to be finally done with the Summer Scare Readathon. LAST YEAR's Summer Scare Readathon...
