@goaty I had something similar to this, a luggable that actually housed a standard size AT motherboard. It came with a 486. It had some sort of LCD screen, but it never displayed anything, as the video card was missing. It had a little fold-down keyboard with space to store its AT cord and plug. Plus it could use most IDA expansion cards. Weighed a bunch, and of course had no battery.

@goaty there's often interesting stuff to be found in the early parts of a technology, when stuff just about works & people are trying all kinds of different ideas to see which will succeed

(also, the era when portable meant "it has a handle")
