@Gargron But this was something I felt would be a decent idea few years ago already. I would want to be able to issue a temporary key to my apartment for my friends with just a few clicks, without having to do tricks like key under the doormat (or talking to neighbors, bleh).

Or if you go on vacation and want your neighbors to water the plant or whatever.
