While browsing through my DriveThruRPG library, I stumbled across this: Revenge of the Kobolds! It uses 4e D&D as a combat engine, but takes it a step beyond that by the DM "programming" the path the enemy adventurers take, while the players can scuttle around and secretly set traps. It has a points scoring system to make it more interesting than simple victory. Neato!
I'm tempted to look through it and strip out the 4e D&Dness to be replaced with much simpler combat resolution.
